Work commences on cliff walk

Wicklow People (West Edition) - - NEWS -

WORK has commenced on the cliff walk in Wicklow town and should be completed before the end of the year.

District Administrator Joan Sinnott provided an update to the members of Wicklow Municipal District at November’s monthly meeting.

‘The contracts are being signed and work has started, with the permission of Wicklow Golf Club. The fencing is to start this week and we are aware of the urgency to continue and complete the work as soon as possible,’ said Ms Sinnott.

In 2014, fencing and warning signs were erected blocking accessibility for walkers to the picturesque cliff walk from the Glen Turn entrance due to safety concerns.

A section of the cliff walk has been closed since 2014.
