CELTIC STARS FC

Celtic Stars blew Division 1 wide open today with a super away win to Slaney Rovers, who had looked like running away with league. Stars took the lead from a superb free kick by Paul Nolan after 15 minutes. Slaney piled on the pressure for rest of the first half but Stars held on with super defending. Stars could have doubled their lead when Mark Egan brought the best out of the Slaney keeper. Slaney were largely confined to set pieces which Stars defended superbly to hold on for a very significant victory, best for Stars in a team of Stars were Robert Ryan, Brendan Behan and Paul Nolan.
