SPLIT THE POT

The win­ner of Scoil Aodán Naofa Carnew split-the-pot of Novem­ber 23 was Tara, Laoise and Aoib­hne Do­ran win­ning €248, tick­ets on sale from the school or lo­cal shops.

Sin­cere sym­pa­thy is ex­tended to the fam­ily and rel­a­tives of Shem Moore, Tom­bre­ane, who died last week, his re­mains were re­moved to Carnew on Sun­day morn­ing for 11 a.m. Mass, fol­lowed by burial in Carnew grave yard. To the fam­ily and rel­a­tives of Mary Kate Sheils, Gar­ry­has­ten, who died dur­ing the week and was buried on Thurs­day in Clone­gal ceme­tery. To the fam­ily and rel­a­tives of Bri­die Kin­sella, Bal­l­ly­fad, who died dur­ing the week.

COOL­BOY HAND­BALL CLUB

Con­grat­u­la­tions to Cool­boy hand­ball club on win­ning their first ever all-Ire­land se­nior club cham­pi­onship beat­ing Kerry’s Glen­beigh, play­ers are Jerome Wil­loughby, Michael Gre­gan. Michael Len­non. Johnny Wil­loughby and Keith Ka­vanagh. Well done to all in­volved.

BABY KNIT­TING/CRO­CHET

The col­lec­tion of blan­kets and baby knit wear for Crum­lin hospi­tal will take place on Mon­day, De­cem­ber 17, at 3 p.m. in Carnew Com­mu­nity Care. A nurse from the hospi­tal will at­tend. All, who have con­trib­uted in any way are very wel­come to come along. Look­ing for­ward to see­ing you there.

MEET­ING RE: CARNEW CHRIST­MAS LIGHTS

A meet­ing will be held on Wed­nes­day, De­cem­ber 5, at 8 p.m. in Carnew Train­ing and Devel­op­ment Cen­tre. Pride in Carnew have amal­ga­mated with Carnew Christ­mas lights com­mit­tee and a meet­ing has been or­gan­ised to dis­cuss the Christ­mas lights for Carnew.

As you will all know from last year, the lights are scarce around the town and the volunteers are even scarcer. If you want Carnew look­ing good for Christ­mas this year, it is es­sen­tial that you at­tend this meet­ing so we can sort some­thing out be­fore it is too late. Please, we are de­pend­ing on you to have some Pride in Carnew. Hope to see you there.
