Sixteen groups receive Go For Life funding worth over €5,000
SIXTEEN groups across Wicklow received funding under the Go For Life national grant scheme recently.
A total of €5,400 was approved for distribution between the groups which are situated all over the county.
Greystones People’s Project Family Resource Centre FRC, Tinahely ARA, Delgany ICA, Roundwood ICA, Avoca ICA, Wicklow Sports Partnership, Ashford ICA, Avoca ARA, Carnew Community Care, Ballycoog ICA Guild, Arklow ARA, Donard Glen Indoor Bowling Club, Aughrim Co. Wicklow ARA, Wicklow Town ICA, Little Bray Family Resource and Development Centre, Newcastle Community Centre were the successful applicants and the funding was awarded in recognition of their positive endeavours and encouragement of activity among older people.
The Grant Scheme demonstrates the wide scope and ambition of Ireland’s older generations where keeping healthy and active is concerned. Zumba, Salsa dancing, rowing, Aqua Aerobics, Pilates and Tai Chi are just some of the activities the grant will fund.
