WEST WICKLOW was behind Donard teenager Rachel Coyne as she appeared on the Late Late Toy Show on Friday night.

The 15-year-old, who attends St Kevin’s Community College in Dunlavin, was chosen to give a solo performance on the most watched RTÉ programme of the year and dazzled the audience with her rendition of ‘Never Enough’ from The Greatest Showman.

This year’s toy show chose the movie as its theme and it went down a storm.

Dressed in a customised gown which featured in the film, Rachel was cool, calm and collected as she sang to perfection, and she even received a standing ovation from the studio audience.

The icing on the cake however, came during her live chat with host Ryan Tubridy.

‘After the song, Ryan went over to have a chat with Rachel, which none of us were expecting,’ said her proud dad, Brendan Coyne.

‘He told her she had done a fantastic job and because they were all so impressed with her during rehearsals, they gave her a prize of the chance to record a song of her choice in Windmill Lane studio. She’s over the moon and can’t wait to go in and record,’ Brendan said.
