Wick­low run riot away to Naas in Le­in­ster League

WICK­LOW RFC’S un­der-14 girls’ team re­sumed their Le­in­ster League cam­paign on Satur­day last with a Premier League 1 fix­ture away to Naas RFC.

The Wick­low girls has played lit­tle rugby since early De­cem­ber and they got off to a slow start against the Kil­dare girls. A cou­ple of early tries got Wick­low off the mark and they lead 19-0 at half­time. Wick­low were miss­ing a num­ber of play­ers due to in­jury/ ill­ness but still fielded a strong squad of 20 play­ers who all got game time.

Wick­low pushed on in the se­cond half and fin­ished strongly with a 54-5 score­line.

This was a good start to 2019 with plenty to work on. Next week, Wick­low host league lead­ers New­bridge RFC.
