COUPLES GET READY TO STEP OUT FOR STRICTLY FUNDRAISER
A night of fantastic entertainment is on the way as 13 couples get ready to take to the floor for a Strictly Come Dancing competition in aid of Wicklow Educate Together national school.
Tickets go on sale on Eventbrite.ie this coming Friday for the dance extravaganza taking place in the Parkview Hotel in Newtownmountkennedy on Saturday, March 30, when members of the audience will have the privilege of deciding the winners.
Wicklow Strictly Come Dancing was launched in Fitzpatrick’s pub in Wicklow town amid high excitement as 26 dancers drawn from parents, staff and friends of the school, waited to hear who their dance partner would be.
The pairs and the style of dance they will be performing, were announced with fanfare as everyone clapped and cheered. The pairings are: Janet Andrews and Anna Goodere, Disco; Louise Nelson and Leanne Perry, Charleston; Grainne Grauer and Natalie Moyano Gonzalez, Jazz; Diane Richardson and Maeve Doyle, Rock n Roll; Aine McGowan and Eamonn O’Hanrahan, Jive; Carmel Mulligan and Michael Flynn, Viennesse Waltz; Janice Doyle and Damien Power, American Smooth;Kate Cahill and Mark Pickering, Salsa; Jenny Levis and Damien O’Rourke, Paso Doble; Egle Brizgiene and Paul Doyle, Quickstep; Lynne Bailie and Ian Johnston, Tango; Fran Manning and Billy Rafferty. Cha Cha Cha; Adele Kelly and Joe Kirwan, Charleston.
A number of dancers are still looking for sponsorship and advertisers are also sought for the brochure which will be sold on the night. The event is an important fundraiser for Wicklow Educate Together, to help towards vital resources and services in the school.

An audience of 500 is expected to attend the competition, which will be scored by a team of dance judges after each performance but the final decision on who wins will rest with members of the public.
Audience members will be able to buy as many votes on the night, adding an extra element to the fundraising.
The participants have practised their dance steps during an intensive three-hour training session and will continue to train under professional choreographers for the next five weeks.
They will compete for the top prize of a Crazy Glazing Plate created by children of the school.
Wicklow Educate Together Strictly Come Dancing has been sponsored by Amazon Developments who will launch Carraig Beag in Wicklow town this spring.
