Wicklow pair help DDSL to U-15 crown
TWO talented Wicklow soccer players achieved national success last weekend when they formed part of the DDSL under-15 team who defeated Waterford to claim the SFAI SUBWAY Championship crown at Mullingar Athletic FC in Gainestown, Mullingar.
Rathnew’s Sam Healy was goalkeeper for the successful DDSL team and even pulled off a tremendous penalty save in the clash with Waterford.
Sam’s sporting pedigree is well known with brothers Chris and Jack having long impressed on the sporting fields and Sam looks certain to plough his own sporting furrow in the years ahead.
Arklow’s Jack Murray was the second Co. Wicklow player who helped the DDSL side to the national title.
Jack, a former player with Arklow Town FC, is a very talented young footballer with a bright future in the game.
