THIS Sunday will see the annual Ellen Kinch Memorial Cup competition take place in Tinahely with a large crowd expected to celebrate the memory of a wonderful Wicklow GAA supporter.

Featuring 16 teams from four counties and six razor-sharp referees, the action gets underway at noon on Sunday with plenty of activities and entertainment including face painting for all ages and delectations.

The event raises money for Barretstown and this year the Kinch family are hoping to raise the grand total of €2,700 and to that end they have set up an online donation page at https://give. everydayhero.ie/ellen-kinch-memorial-cup-2019.

Already, the total raised is exactly 50 per cent of the desired total at €1,400.

Visitors to the donation page will see a moving note from Jackie Kinch that says: ‘I’ve created this page because I want to make a difference. the Ellen Kinch Memorial Cup is an adult ladiews football blitz. a day of great fun and smiles all round in aid of a great cause, Barretstown, and keeping my sister’s name alive,’ she wrote, before highlighting the amazing work done by the organisation for not just Ellen but constantly.
