Motorcyclist survives horror crash
A MOTORCYCLIST had a miraculous escape with his life in a horror crash on the South Wicklow-North Wexford border on Saturday morning, which saw his motorbike torn in two.
The motorcyclist from the Kilanerin area, who is in his late twenties, suffered broken bones in the crash which occurred at around 7.30 a.m. at Scarnagh Cross near Inch on the old N11.
His bike, a car, and a motor trike were involved in a collision at the crossroads.
His injuries were described as ‘not life threatening.’
Witnesses to the aftermath of the crash commented that it was a miracle that the motorcyclist survived the crash, as the motorbike was found in two separate pieces at the scene.
The rider on the three wheel motorbike, also a male in his late twenties, was brought to hospital where he was also treated for his injuries.
Emergency crews including two ambulances and Gardai were called to the scene. The scene was sealed off for a short period of time while the injured were tended to. Conditions on the morning were reported to be dry.
