There will be a pro­gres­sive 45 card game in Round­wood Parish Hall on Sun­day, June 9, at 7 p.m. ex­cel­lent prize money with re­fresh­ments and raf­fle at the in­ter­val. Ev­ery­one wel­come.

CAR BOOT SALE

The next Round­wood car boot sale will be on Sun­day, June 23, and ev­ery fourth Sun­day of the month there­after. Set up of stalls from 9 a.m., Cars €10, Jeep/Van €15.

MU­SIC IN CALARY

On Fri­day, June 21, Mu­sici Ire­land with Lance Coburn (piano) Miriam Roy­croft (cello) and Beth McNinch (vi­ola) will per­form Beethoven’s Eye­glass Duo, Schu­mann’s Marchen­bilder, Da Falla’s Suite Pop­u­lar Es­pañola, Carl Vine’s five Ba­gatelles and Brahms’s Piano Trio in A mi­nor Op. 114.

On Tuesday, June 25, Ellen Jans­son (piano) will per­form Beethoven’s Sonata in A-flat Op. 26, De­bussy’s Feux d’ar­ti­fice, Alex­ina Louie’s ‘War­rior’ from Scenes from a Jade Ter­race, Bach’s Chro­matic Fan­tasie and Fugue and Liszt’s Bal­lade No two. Lo­cal artist, De­clan Cooke (piano) will per­form Ed­vard Greig’s ‘Wed­ding Day at Trold­hau­gen’.

On Thurs­day, June 27, The Janet Ashe Me­mo­rial Con­cert: Adam Heron (piano) will per­form Bach’s French Suite No. Three in B-mi­nor BWV 814, Schu­bert’s Piano Sonata No. 16 in A-mi­nor D. 845, Al­béniz’s Ibe­ria, Cuaderno one and Beethoven’s Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp mi­nor Op. 27 No. Two ‘Moon­light’. Lo­cal artist, Jack Lawlor (piano), will play Chopin’s Noc­turne in Eb ma­jor, De­bussy’s Clair de Lune and De­bussy’s La Fille Aux Cheveux de Lin.

Cuidiú North Wick­low Humpty Dumpty play­group op­er­ates each Wed­nes­day morn­ing, 1011: 30 in Round­wood Parish Hall, dur­ing term time. MEN’S SHED

The Shed con­tin­ues ev­ery Tuesday be­tween 10 and 12 in our Shed within a Shed at Pat Carr’s place in Knock­ra­heen. The top­ics are wide and var­ied and we con­tinue to par­tic­i­pate in a grow­ing list of ac­tiv­i­ties.

MAR­KET

Round­wood Mar­ket con­tin­ues with the usual pro­duce and new hours. Now open ev­ery Sun­day from mid­day till 4 p.m. New mem­bers wel­come. Con­tact Jac­inta at 086 0722851.

SET DANC­ING

Our weekly set danc­ing ses­sions con­tinue in Ka­vanagh’s Lounge All are al­ways wel­come – whether you have ever or never danced be­fore. Ses­sion starts at 8.30 till 10.30 and cost is still only €5 for a good night of ex­er­cise.

TRIPS

There will be a trip to Scot­land from the 26th to July 31 for six days. In­cluded are the High­lands of Scot­land and the Orkney Isles, Perth, Thurso, In­ver­ness, Loch Lomond, Loch Ness and Glen­coe and many more places at a cost of €750 per per­son all in. The West­port Coun­try six-day break takes place from Oc­to­ber 20 to Oc­to­ber 25 at a cost of €425. Acts per­form­ing will in­clude Robert Mizzell, Stu­ary Moyles and De­clan Nerny among oth­ers. The Wick­low Man will play in Moneystown Com­mu­nity Cen­tre on Fri­day, June 7, from 9.30 p.m. till tlate. Tea served and re­fresh­ments also avail­able. Come along and en­joy a night of waltz­ing, jive, line danc­ing etc.

BARN DANCE/BAR­BE­CUE

A date for your diary. Moneystown barn dance and bar­be­cue will take place on Satur­day, June 29, start­ing at 8 p.m. till late. Fully li­censed, fab­u­lous food and great coun­try mu­sic pro­vided by Paul Mol­loy and the Whole Hog. So look up your stet­son and grab your danc­ing shoes and come along to this great night.

WALK­ING GROUP

The Round­wood Whizzers walk­ing group will meet on Wed­nes­day even­ing (June 5) at 7 p.m. at the Coach House and will walk the Lower Reser­voir Walk. Ev­ery­one wel­come to walk at your own pace for ap­prox­i­mately one hour. A date of the diary – Wed­nes­day, June 19, will be the next hill walk in the Djouce area, weath­er­per­mit­ting more de­tails nearer the time.
