The an­nual Gymkhana will be held in Cool­gre­any on Sun­day, July 7, and plans are ad­vanc­ing favourably for that day. This is al­ways a very worth­while event with some lovely tro­phies and cups to be won in all of the dif­fer­ent horse and pony events, and also some great jump­ing in all of the chil­dren’s jump­ing classes.

In con­junc­tion with the Gymkhana there will be a Mon­ster Raf­fle, with tick­ets on sale at present. The prize money is a first prize of €500, sec­ond prize of €200, and three other prizes of €100 each. Tick­ets are €2 each or a book of three tick­ets is €5. Draw will take place on the day of Gymkhana. All pro­ceeds will go to St David’s Church Funds. Ev­ery­one is wel­come.


Rath­pierce Com­mu­nity Group will hold a 45 Card Drive in the Wood­en­bridge Ho­tel on Sun­day, June 30, start­ing at 7.30 p.m. with all pro­ceeds go­ing to fur­ther de­vel­op­ment of the lo­cal area. Your sup­port would be very much ap­pre­ci­ated.


The three lo­cal ladies, Vera Gro­gan, Alice Gar­diner, and Betty Rus­sell, who par­tic­i­pated in the re­cent marathon and raised €664 for the Ark­low Can­cer Sup­port Group would like to thank ev­ery­one who spon­sored and sup­ported them in their ef­forts. The above amount has been handed over to the sup­port group.


Birth­day greet­ings to Adam Mur­ray, who cel­e­brated his eighth birth­day on Sun­day, June 21, also good wishes to his brother Alec, who will cel­e­brate his 11th birth­day on July 1. Birth­day greet­ings also to Emily Hughes, Cool­gre­any Demesne, who will cel­e­brate her 10th birth­day on June 25.


It is that time of year again when ad­ju­di­ca­tion of the Tidy Towns Com­pe­ti­tion is about to be­gin, and the lo­cal com­mit­tee are ap­peal­ing for the sup­port of as many as pos­si­ble to help with the clean­ing up of all the roads around the vil­lage and in the vil­lage it­self to help im­prove the area. Don’t for­get this is Tidy Towns month.


Cool­gre­any Na­tional School is now tak­ing en­rol­ments for Septem­ber 2019. If you wish to en­rol your child, please con­tact the school of­fice for an ap­pli­ca­tion form at 0402 37246 or call into the of­fice dur­ing school hours.


The club is ap­peal­ing to the com­mu­nity for sup­port for their weekly lotto which has changed slightly due to the clo­sure of the lo­cal post of­fice.
