Among the charities to benefit during the Arts Festival was Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA) Ireland. They held a bricà-brac sale in the hall on Sunday. They raised €539.
FARA Ireland would like to thank everyone who donated items for sale, bought goods on the day and supported the raffle. First prize, household hamper, was won by Mary Deegan, Grangebeg, second prize, water colour picture of a farmhouse, went Marie Conran, Milltown. Third prize, children’s book and teddy, went to Elizabeth Carley. The money goes directly to research.
MAUREEN DENNIS MEMORIAL SET DANCE
Thanks to all who supported last week’s set dance ceili in the Imall Hall in aid of St Bridgid’s Hospice on the Curragh. A total of €1,880 was raised.
ST NICHOLAS BLESSED WELL PILGRIMAGE
Please meet at the green at 6.30 p.m. this Saturday, June 29, to walk to the Blessed Well. Mass will also be celebrated on Sunday, June 30, at 6.30 p.m. at the Blessed Well.
A Blood Clinic will take place in St Kevin’s Community College, Dunlavin on Thursday, June 27, from 5 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. Please support where possible.
Strawberries and Cream and Afternoon Tea will take place at Ruth Fisher’s home, Tober Road, Dunlavin on Sunday, June 30, from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. Plants and cakes will be on sale. Admission is €5. Proceeds in aid of St Nicholas’ Church of Ireland, Dunlavin.
We collected a total of €950 in aid of St Brigid’s Hospice. Many thanks to all who supported, it was very much appreciated.
The Leinster Loop Charity Cycle will take place on Sunday, June 30, The cyclists will pass through Dunlavin, from Tynte Park through the town towards Colbinstown between approximately midday and 3 p.m. Please be extra aware of safety when travelling to and from midday Mass. And indeed it may give our parishioners an opportunity to provide encouragement and support to the cyclists on the route.
Sympathy is extended to Betty McEvoy (former secretary St Kevin’s) on the death of her mother Marie Brady, Glashina, Blessington. Marie’s funeral took place in Blessington. May she rest in peace.

Dunlavin and District Forum are delighted to partner with Dunlavin Friendship Club in availing of a scheme being rolled out by Muintir na Tire.
This scheme allows for the provision of carbon monoxide alarms in houses that don’t already have them. Alarms will be provided and installed free of charge with a maximum of two per household.
This Muintir na Tire programme is aimed at persons who do not have existing alarms and do not have the resources to install alarms themselves. We would particularly invite those over 65 to avail of the scheme.

Always wanted to try your hand at painting a healing mandala? Now is your chance. Pranic healer Bernie Sheridan is hosting classes in An Lár Market Sq, Dunlavin on Thursdays at 11 a.m. Price is €10 and materials will be supplied. The only skill required is the ability to have fun.
