Among the char­i­ties to ben­e­fit dur­ing the Arts Fes­ti­val was Friedre­ich’s Ataxia Re­search Al­liance (FARA) Ire­land. They held a bricà-brac sale in the hall on Sun­day. They raised €539.

FARA Ire­land would like to thank ev­ery­one who do­nated items for sale, bought goods on the day and sup­ported the raf­fle. First prize, house­hold ham­per, was won by Mary Deegan, Grange­beg, sec­ond prize, wa­ter colour pic­ture of a farm­house, went Marie Con­ran, Mill­town. Third prize, chil­dren’s book and teddy, went to El­iz­a­beth Car­ley. The money goes di­rectly to re­search.


Thanks to all who sup­ported last week’s set dance ceili in the Imall Hall in aid of St Bridgid’s Hos­pice on the Cur­ragh. A to­tal of €1,880 was raised.


Please meet at the green at 6.30 p.m. this Satur­day, June 29, to walk to the Blessed Well. Mass will also be cel­e­brated on Sun­day, June 30, at 6.30 p.m. at the Blessed Well.


A Blood Clinic will take place in St Kevin’s Com­mu­nity Col­lege, Dunlavin on Thurs­day, June 27, from 5 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. Please sup­port where pos­si­ble.


Strawberri­es and Cream and Af­ter­noon Tea will take place at Ruth Fisher’s home, Tober Road, Dunlavin on Sun­day, June 30, from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. Plants and cakes will be on sale. Ad­mis­sion is €5. Pro­ceeds in aid of St Ni­cholas’ Church of Ire­land, Dunlavin.


We col­lected a to­tal of €950 in aid of St Brigid’s Hos­pice. Many thanks to all who sup­ported, it was very much ap­pre­ci­ated.


The Le­in­ster Loop Char­ity Cy­cle will take place on Sun­day, June 30, The cy­clists will pass through Dunlavin, from Tynte Park through the town to­wards Col­binstown be­tween ap­prox­i­mately mid­day and 3 p.m. Please be ex­tra aware of safety when trav­el­ling to and from mid­day Mass. And in­deed it may give our parish­ioners an op­por­tu­nity to pro­vide en­cour­age­ment and sup­port to the cy­clists on the route.


Sym­pa­thy is ex­tended to Betty McEvoy (for­mer sec­re­tary St Kevin’s) on the death of her mother Marie Brady, Glashina, Bless­ing­ton. Marie’s fu­neral took place in Bless­ing­ton. May she rest in peace.

Dunlavin and District Fo­rum are de­lighted to part­ner with Dunlavin Friend­ship Club in avail­ing of a scheme be­ing rolled out by Muin­tir na Tire.

This scheme al­lows for the pro­vi­sion of car­bon monoxide alarms in houses that don’t al­ready have them. Alarms will be pro­vided and in­stalled free of charge with a max­i­mum of two per house­hold.

This Muin­tir na Tire pro­gramme is aimed at per­sons who do not have ex­ist­ing alarms and do not have the re­sources to in­stall alarms them­selves. We would par­tic­u­larly in­vite those over 65 to avail of the scheme.

Al­ways wanted to try your hand at paint­ing a heal­ing mandala? Now is your chance. Pranic healer Bernie Sheri­dan is host­ing classes in An Lár Mar­ket Sq, Dunlavin on Thurs­days at 11 a.m. Price is €10 and ma­te­ri­als will be sup­plied. The only skill re­quired is the abil­ity to have fun. She will also hold heal­ing ses­sions in the af­ter­noon at €30 a ses­sion. For fur­ther de­tails please con­tact Florence at 087 1205497.


TD John Brady will hold a clinic in Dunlavin Parish cen­tre on the sec­ond Mon­day of each month from 11.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. All wel­come to drop in.


The Friend­ship Club meet ev­ery Fri­day from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the parish cen­tre. New mem­bers al­ways wel­come.
