Great day at Tri

THERE was a great turnout for the 6th an­nual Bless­ing­ton Triathlon last Sun­day at Bless­ing­ton Sail­ing club.

400 ath­letes rep­re­sent­ing 40 clubs en­joyed swim­ming in the depths of Poulaphouc­a Reser­voir, fol­lowed by a circuit down to Hol­ly­wood and back. The run was tough to fin­ish, with some sharp climbs.

Ev­ery­one fin­ished safely and en­joyed the at­mos­phere at the fin­ish, soak­ing up the views of the Wick­low Moun­tains.

The or­gan­is­ers thanked ev­ery­one who made the event such a success.

These in­clude: lo­cal res­i­dents, vol­un­teer mar­shals from Bel­park Triathlon Club and Bless­ing­ton Sail­ing Club, Kildare Wa­ter Safety, ESB, Order of Malta, An Garda Síochána, Triathlon Ire­land, Base2Race, Chi­aBia, Fyffes, DB Ther­apy, Last Lap Café, Smiths Ice Creams, Wick­low Out­doors, Wick­low Lo­cal Sports Part­ner­ship, and the char­ity part­ner Down Syn­drome Ire­land.
