AC­TIVE RE­TIRED HOL­I­DAY

The Round­wood Ac­tive Re­tire­ment will travel to the Mount Er­ri­gal in Let­terkenny for their an­nual hol­i­day from the 16th to Septem­ber 20. The cost is €310 per per­son shar­ing or €360 for sin­gle sup­ple­ment. This cost cov­ers your trans­port, ac­com­mo­da­tion, meals and tours for the week. Please give your names to Betty in early July to se­cure your place.

TIDY TOWNS

The Tidy Towns judges will be pay­ing their an­nual visit shortly. If you have a bit of time to do some kerb­side weed­ing, lit­ter pick­ing or to put a splash of paint on that wall or fence it would help greatly. Many thanks.

BLESS­ING OF GRAVES

Round­wood Par­ish Ceme­tery Sun­day/Pat­tern Sun­day will take place on Sun­day, July 21. Please note the 11.30 a.m. Mass will be Cel­e­brated in Round­wood Ceme­tery NOT in the church on that par­tic­u­lar day, weather per­mit­ting. This Mass will be of­fered for all in­terred in the ceme­tery and will in­clude a bless­ing of the graves.

BINGO

Fun Bingo will take place on in the An­namoe Cen­tre on Sun­day, July 14, from 3 p.m. Fam­ily mem­bers and friends are more than wel­come to at­tend. €5 per book and great raf­fle prizes. Come along and en­joy.

LUNCH CLUB

CAR BOOT SALE

The next Round­wood car boot sale will be on Sun­day, July 28, and ev­ery fourth Sun­day of the month there­after. Set up of stalls from 9 a.m., Cars €10, Jeep/Van €15.

ROUND­WOOD DANCE

The monthly dance will take place in Round­wood Par­ish Cen­tre on Fri­day, July 19, with mu­sic by Jimmy Ho­gan.

MENS SHED

SET DANC­ING

Our weekly set danc­ing ses­sions con­tinue in Ka­vanagh’s Lounge All are al­ways wel­come – whether you have ever or never danced be­fore. Session starts at 8.30 p.m. con­tin­u­ing till 10.30 and cost is still only €5 for a good night of ex­er­cise.

MONEYSTOWN DANCE

The Wick­low Man will play in Moneystown Com­mu­nity Cen­tre on Fri­day, July 12, from 9.30 p.m. till midnight. Tea served, re­fresh­ments also avail­able, door prizes. Come along and en­joy a night of waltz­ing, jive, linedanc­ing, etc.

TRIPS

There will be a day trip to Water­ford Trea­sures on Satur­day, June 29, with time for shopping. Leav­ing Round­wood Par­ish Hall at 9.30 a.m. and trav­el­ling via Hol­ly­wood with tea and scones in the Dol­men Ho­tel in Car­low. The evening meal will be in the Gan­don in Port­laoise. The cost of the trip will be €75 per per­son with money to be in as soon as pos­si­ble to Su­san 087 6273032.

A pil­grim­age to Our Lady’s is­land dwill take plac eon the Sun­day, Au­gust 18, leav­ing Round­wood Par­ish Hall at 10 a.m. Tea, scone and evening meal and bus will cost €65.

The West­port Coun­try six-day break takes place from Oc­to­ber 20 to Oc­to­ber 25 with Robert Mizzell, Stu­art Moyles, Declan Nerny among oth­ers per­form­ing. Din­ner, bed and Break­fast in West­port Woods and daily coach tours with on day at your leisure. Cost €425 with a de­post of €200 to be paid be­fore the end of July to 087 6273032.

WALK­ING GROUP

The Round­wood Whizzers Walk­ing Group meet ev­ery Wednesday evening at 6.50 p.m. intheCoach­House­carparko­rat 7 p.m. at the Up­per Vartry Reser­voir Dam Gates on the New­town Road. The Round­wood Cancer Sup­port cen­tre is now up and run­ning and is open in the Par­ish Cen­tre on Mon­day, Wed­nes­days and Fri­days from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. Please feel free to pop in for a chat we will be happy to help. CARBON MONOX­IDE ALARMS

Muin­tir na Tíre has been al­lo­cated fund­ing by the Depart­ment of Ru­ral and Com­mu­nity Devel­op­ment to in­stall Carbon Monox­ide alarms in the homes of el­derly and vulnerable per­sons. This pro­gramme is aimed at per­sons who do not have ex­ist­ing alarms and do not have the re­sources to in­stall alarms them­selves. The Round­wood and Dis­trict Com­mu­nity are putting in an ap­pli­ca­tion un­der the scheme which will al­low res­i­dents of the area to ap­ply for alarms. The group can as­sist in in­stalling the alarms if the need arises. The alarms are bat­tery pow­ered so in­stal­la­tion is straight­for­ward. If you are el­derly, have a dis­abil­ity or are un­em­ployed and do not have a carbon monox­ide alarm in your home and wish to ap­ply for one please call 086 8055040 on or be­fore Wednesday, June 26.
