Elvis Roots Festival is launched in Hacketstown
FANS of the King of Rock n Roll gathered recently to launch the Elvis roots festival in Hacketstown, county Carlow.
Now in its fifth year, the festival takes place on Sunday, July 28 and promises to be a celebration of the Presley family’s roots in Eagle Hill, Hacketstown and a fun family day out.
A highlight of the day will be Irish country star Bernie Heaney who will perform for music lovers at the event. Irish Elvis Anthony Farrelly will also take part in the festival.
There will street entertainment performers including stilt walkers, face painters, fire breathers, and a Wild West show. For car enthusiasts, the day will also feature a classic and vintage car show. East coast falconers will bring an array of eight different birds of prey to the festival.
There will be hot food served by the award-winning Badboys barbecue for visitors to enjoy. There will also be stalls selling memorabilia and children’s face painting.
