CROSSCARE’S East Wicklow Youth Service recently launched their new youth centre on the Main Street in Rathdrum.

Jessica Byrne cut the ribbon on the Inspire Youth Centre with Katie Byrne and Natasha Shortall. The service has been operating in the village for the past five years and this new premises will be a welcome addition to the community. Young people in Rathdrum have limited access to amenities and activities, and given the limited public transport, it is important that they have access to a service which is specifically for them. Currently, East Wicklow Youth Service works with four groups of young people and are hoping to open Inspire Youth Centre more often from September onwards. East Wicklow Youth Service said they are looking forward to working with parents and other community organisations in the new premises and that they are delighted with the support they have already had from businesses and community representatives in the area.
