Wicklow People (West Edition) - - NEWS -

A Bike Trike Ride was held in Dunlavin as part of Bike Week 2019.

Aisling Grace, chair of the Dunlavin and District Forum which organised the event, said the group were delighted to be in a position to help to arrange activities within the community to celebrate Bike Week.

There was also a balance bike obstacle course, supplied by Jackie Kinch from Wicklow Local Sports Partnership, and the children were put through their paces with a limbo pole for bikes and ramps.

Members of the Reservoir Cogs Cycling Club visited to explain how bicycle gears work and about the importance of wearing a helmet.

Dunlavin and District Forum also held bike-themed art and photography competitions throughout the week and there were lovely prizes for all the young artists. Antoinette Whelan, secretary of Dunlavin and District Forum, was on hand to present the prizes.

All the children went home with new lights and locks for their bikes.

Members of Reservoir Cogs share their knowledge of bikes at the Dunlavin Bike Trike Ride.
