It was a very sad week for the parish of Bless­ing­ton with three deaths. John McNa­mara, Rathn­abo, passed away after los­ing his very brave bat­tle with a serious ill­ness. His re­mains were re­moved to the Church of Our Lady, Bless­ing­ton last Satur­day af­ter­noon, July 6, for re­quiem Mass and his burial took place af­ter­wards in Bur­gage Ceme­tery. There was a very large at­ten­dance at John’s fu­neral which was very fit­ting as he was well known in the Bless­ing­ton and sur­round­ing area and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The tragic death also took place of Skaidrite Valdgeima, Deer­park Walk, Bless­ing­ton. Her re­mains were re­moved to the Church of Our Lady, Bless­ing­ton last Satur­day morn­ing for re­quiem Mass and her cre­ma­tion took place af­ter­wards in New­lands Cre­ma­to­rium, Dublin. There was a large at­ten­dance at her fu­neral which was most fit­ting. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Michael Kennedy, Bless­ing­ton Abbey, lost his very brave bat­tle with a serious ill­ness. His re­mains were re­moved to the Church of Our Lady, Bless­ing­ton last Thurs­day morn­ing for re­quiem Mass and his burial took place af­ter­wards in Bur­gage Ceme­tery. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
