Wick­low pair have high hopes

TWO of Wick­low’s Poc Fada ex­po­nents will be hop­ing to con­tiue their suc­cess this Satur­day.

Michael Cleary from the Dunlavin Club held off stiff chal­lenges to emerge as the Wick­low Un­der-16 Poc Fada win­ner at Ballinkill on Satur­day last.

Cleary demon­strated his lengthy and ac­cu­rate strik­ing which should be on ben­e­fit in the Le­in­ster Fi­nal.

In the se­nior sec­tion it was Bray Em­mets’ Adam Bushe who emerged as the win­ner.

Now both con­tes­tants go for­ward to the Le­in­ster Fi­nals which will be held in the Sug­ar­loaf Moun­tains this com­ing Satur­day.

The Wick­low event was ex­cel­lently or­gan­ised by Philip Cam­pion who was de­lighted with the suc­cess of the af­ter­noons com­pe­ti­tion.
