FIRST GARDEN COUNTY MIDSUMMER RUN A SUCCESS
AROUND 160 runners and walkers took part in the recent Garden County Mid-Summer half-marathon hosted by Kiltegan GAA. Organisers say they were pleased with the turnout for the first year of the event.
Participants could complete a 5K, 10K or half marathon length on Sunday, June 23,
starting from the Kiltegan GAA grounds along a scenic route with views of the Wicklow hills.
Trophies were presented to the men and women who crossed the finish line in first, second and third places in each of the three categories with refreshments served before the prizes were awarded.
Everyone who took park also received a
medal, sponsored by Keadeen Dairy, and a t-shirt, sponsored by Kaideen Knitwear. Special thanks were also extended to the committee for their hard work preparing for the half-marathon. Proceeds from the event will go towards the Kiltegan GAA and camogie development fund to improve the facilities available for all players from juvenile to adult levels.
