HSE launches new tools to help par­ents

A WICK­LOW fam­ily was among the guests present for the launch of a new preg­nancy, baby and tod­dler health web­site and books for par­ents and par­ents-to-be.

Mon­ica and Barra O Dúill along with eight-month-old baby Liam from Round­wood were in at­ten­dance at the launch on Thurs­day of a new HSE cam­paign which in­tro­duces my­child.ie, as well as new books all pro­vided free of charge.

Dur­ing the devel­op­ment of my­child.ie, over 4,000 par­ents took part in a re­search and lis­ten­ing ex­er­cise. These par­ents in­cluded those at dif­fer­ent stages - first time preg­nant, sec­ond child, moth­ers, fa­thers - and from a va­ri­ety of lo­ca­tions across Ire­land and dif­fer­ent sit­u­a­tions, in­clud­ing par­ents tran­si­tion­ing from home­less­ness, asy­lum seek­ers, teenage and young par­ents, and par­ents from the Trav­eller com­mu­nity. The HSE’s my­child.ie books and web­site are de­signed to be a one-stop-shop for par­ents.
