GARDEN PARTY AT TRUDDER GRANGE
THE St Patrick’s Kilquade Conference of the St Vincent de Paul organised a garden party for last Sunday in the beautiful surroundings of Trudder Grange.
The conference caters for Roundwood, Kilquade, Kilcoole, Newtownmountkennedy, Delgany and Newcastle and there has a huge level of support shown toward the annual event. All the proceeds raised form the fundraiser go toward the St Vincent de Paul Conference’s work in these areas.
Trudder Grange is a secluded, privately-owned garden and old estate located near to Newtownmountkennedy. Approached by an avenue of 200 year old beech trees, the garden has developed over the last 30 years from a stony field into a garden full of shrubs and herbaceous borders, an organic vegetable garden and with a greenhouse producing many varieties of tomatoes.
There was plenty of lovely food for guests to chow down on, including a large barbecue and some home made goodies. There was also no shortage of entertainment for younger visitors, including games, face painting and balloon sculpting.
