Rave review for Arklow town from Brummie visitors
THE TOWN of Arklow received rave reviews from over 50 visitors who enjoyed a holiday in town as part of The Gathering last week.
The group chose Arklow as their base for exploring Co. Wicklow as a result of links with local man Paddy Finn and Councillor Pat Fitzgerald and told The Wicklow People that they intend to come again next year, such was the fun they had during the week.
‘We were bowled over with the hospitality, the service and the people,’said Chairperson of the Wicklow Association in Birmingham Queenie Mulvihill who hails from Tinahely and moved to England in the 50s.
‘The Arklow Bay Hotel was a great place to stay and all the people that came with us have been asking if Arklow can be chosen as next year’s destination again. We loved the one to one service in the local shops, especially McMullan’s where many of us bought outfits for an upcoming summer ball.’
