‘Wheel-ey’ good show
THE Tom Kennedy Memorial Vintage & Classic Car Show took place last Sunday at the Kilmacanogue GAA Grounds.
The collection of stunning cars were brought to the venue located at the foot of the Sugarloaf Mountain for a lovely day organised by the Garden of Ireland Vintage Club.
This was the sixth year of the popular event, held in memory of club member Tom, and to raise money for St Ann’s oncology ward at St Vincent’s.
Visitors and vintage car and bike owners came from far and wide to enjoy the event, The display also included some tractors and agricultural equipment.
As well as a display of impressive vintage vehicles, the day included a fun dog show and bouncy castles, as well as refreshments.
There was live music at the event with Mildred Fox and Christian Hind.
Bob Kinsella was the winner of ‘Car of the Show’ with his MGA Roadster. Brian Nolan was MC and provided music for the day.
The event also included some stalls with crafts, bric-a-brac, food and other items for sale.
