Arklow’s Karen meets Prince Edward
An Arklow woman recently met with a senior member of the Royal Family at an event in Scotland.
Karen O’Neill, who is the daughter of Danny and Roisin O’Neill and originally from Abbeylands, was introduced to Prince Edward alongside some of her colleagues at an event held as part of the Inclusive Skating Paralympic International and Scottish Championships at Murrayfield Ice Rink on July 4.
She met the prince because she was involved in introducing a new Learn to Skate Inclusive initiative across 14 ice rinks in the United Kingdom. Karen is also hosting a national Artistic Skating Event that encourages people with special needs and or disabilities to compete.
Karen works as Head of Development for Planet Ice who are UK’s largest ice and leisure provider. This summer, she will head up the Great Britain (GB) Artistic Inline Skating team who will competing in the World Open 2019 competition in Italy.
