Motorist fined €400 over three-car collision
EIGHT months were allowed for payment of fines as 29-year-old Alley Webster from 5 Hillview in Carnew was put off the road for two years on conviction for motoring offences.
The District Court sitting in Gorey on Thursday, July 11, heard that Ms Webster caused a three-vehicle collision at Ballyellis, near Gorey, on December 30 in 2017 when she strayed into the wrong lane on the road.
She had an American licence and it emerged that the divorced mother of two had no licence or insurance in place.
Solicitor David Tarrant explained that, on the date in question, his client was very upset and fleeing from a domestic situation.
She was fined €200 for dangerous driving and a further €200 for the insurance offence, with the two year disqualification.
