Tinahely Show Queen 2019 fi­nal­ists are se­lected

THE four can­di­dates who will battle it out to be crowned Tinahely Show Queen 2019 have been se­lected. Each was in­ter­viewed by War­ren Fur­long in front of a packed house last Fri­day.

Theresa De­vitt Durkin, spon­sored by Perry Oil, is from Rath­drum. She is cur­rently study­ing law at Maynooth Univer­sity. She is a mem­ber of the Aughrim Sheep Breed­ers and helps to or­gan­ise the an­nual show and sale in Carnew Mart.

Sarah Mary Kealy, spon­sored by O’Keefes Pub, Knock­ananna, is from Hack­et­stown, and is also a stu­dent. Sarah en­joys play­ing mu­si­cal in­stru­ments and singing. She loves farm­ing with her fa­ther and loves meet­ing people.

Eimear Cox, spon­sored by The Wood­en­bridge Ho­tel, is from Ark­low. Eimear is a dance teacher and works as a waitress at the Wood­en­bridge Ho­tel. She en­joys danc­ing, mu­sic, keep fit and so­cial­is­ing.

Justyne Law­less is from Tinahely and is also a stu­dent. She is cur­rently work­ing as an in­tern with PwC. Justyne’s hob­bies in­clude run­ning and trav­el­ing. A panel of judges in­ter­viewed the four can­di­dates in pri­vate. The panel will now se­lect the win­ner who will be crowned as the Show Queen at the Court Stage at The Tinahely Agri­cul­tural Show and be pre­sented with a num­ber of prizes. This year’s event takes place on Mon­day, Au­gust 5.
