Tinahely Show Queen 2019 finalists are selected
THE four candidates who will battle it out to be crowned Tinahely Show Queen 2019 have been selected. Each was interviewed by Warren Furlong in front of a packed house last Friday.
Theresa Devitt Durkin, sponsored by Perry Oil, is from Rathdrum. She is currently studying law at Maynooth University. She is a member of the Aughrim Sheep Breeders and helps to organise the annual show and sale in Carnew Mart.
Sarah Mary Kealy, sponsored by O’Keefes Pub, Knockananna, is from Hacketstown, and is also a student. Sarah enjoys playing musical instruments and singing. She loves farming with her father and loves meeting people.
Eimear Cox, sponsored by The Woodenbridge Hotel, is from Arklow. Eimear is a dance teacher and works as a waitress at the Woodenbridge Hotel. She enjoys dancing, music, keep fit and socialising.
Justyne Lawless is from Tinahely and is also a student. She is currently working as an intern with PwC. Justyne’s hobbies include running and traveling. A panel of judges interviewed the four candidates in private. The panel will now select the winner who will be crowned as the Show Queen at the Court Stage at The Tinahely Agricultural Show and be presented with a number of prizes. This year’s event takes place on Monday, August 5.
