New route for tenth Moon­light Chal­lenge

THE Moon­light Chal­lenge will fol­low a new 25-kilo­me­tre route this year as the pop­u­lar fundraiser cel­e­brates its tenth an­niver­sary.

Regis­tra­tion for the chal­lenge, which is the main fundrais­ing event of the year for the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Moun­tain Res­cue Team, will open next month.

This year’s chal­lenge will start at Glen­dalough House in An­namoe and head along the Wick­low Way, tak­ing in Brusher Gap, Pad­dock Hill, Brock­agh For­est and Glen­dalough.

From Glen­dalough, par­tic­i­pants will con­tinue along a sec­tion of St Kevin’s Way, past Poulanass Wa­ter­fall and up Troop­er­stown Hill.

The fin­ish will be at the moun­tain res­cue team’s base in the Glen of Imaal, where some hot food and drinks will be await­ing every­one.

Shut­tle buses will be pro­vided to ferry par­tic­i­pants back to the car park be­side the start­ing point.

The Moon­light Chal­lenge takes place on November 9 and reg­is­tra­tions will be taken from Au­gust 23.
