THINGS ON THE UP AS AIR DISPLAY WEEKEND ARRIVES
The weekend of Bray Air Display has arrived, with acrobatics from the sky this Saturday and Sunday, July 27 and 28.
Including international acts from as far afield as the Kingdom of Jordan as well as the crème de la crème of Irish aviators, the air display promises to be an unforgettable weekend. The one the ground entertainment begins at noon each day before the main event.
Visiting display teams include The Blades (a team comprised of former Red Arrow pilots); the spectacular Royal Jordanian Falcons who are back by popular demand and the UK’s fearless Richard Goodwin with his gravity-defying performance.
Irish talent will be just as impressive with awe-inspiring performances from the Irish Air Corps and the Black Knights Parachute Display Team as they parachute jump from a helicopter 4,000 feet above the Bray shoreline while Eddie Goggins, Ireland’s ‘Flying Dentist’, promises a breath-taking display. As well as the action packed air show there is plenty of on-the-ground entertainment with a family funfair, live music and a food and craft market open from noon each day.
Sé Pardy, Bray Air Display Director, said: ‘We’re looking forward to another thrilling weekend of aviation excellence as part of the 14th annual Bray Air Display. It’s a unique opportunity to enjoy spectacular aerobatic performances – all completely free – and something the whole family can enjoy. Thanks to Bray.ie, the Irish Aviation Authority and Wicklow County Council whose support makes this event possible.’
There will be parking at Coláiste Ráithín and at the old golf club lands on Ravenswell Road.
