DAY CARE WALK IN BALTINGLASS
IT was a warm day last Sunday for another successful fundraising walk for Baltinglass Day Care Centre. The weather didn’t deter any of the walkers who set off from Fishers Centra along a route that was nearly 9km long through the town and the surrounding area along part of the N81 and Red Well’s at 3 p.m. Tea and light refreshments were also enjoyed by the walkers in the centre on the Kiltegan Road after the walk was completed.
While there was a smaller turnout then expected, Lorraine Aspill, PRO for the Baltinglass Day Care Centre, said ‘everyone was in great spirits’.
The Baltinglass Day Care Centre organising committee thanked everyone who took part in the walk for their support and fundraising efforts. The centre relies heavily on the ongoing generous support of the local community in the town and surrounding areas. The committee also extended their thanks to volunteers, the Gardaí and the Irish Red Cross for their assistance on the day of the fundraising walk.
Meanwhile, the next meeting of the Day Care Centre organising committee will take place on Wednesday, August 14, in Baltinglass Day Care Centre at 8.30 p.m. The centre provides day care services to the wider West Wicklow community. Light refreshments will also be served after the meeting and anyone who is interested is encouraged to attend on the night.
