A FANTASTIC NIGHT OF SONG AND DANCE
THERE was no shortage of talent on display in The Village Inn, Rathnew on Thursday night as the pub hosted the Singing Pubs competition as part of Wicklow Regatta.
The event was hosted by 2017 Singing pubs winner Stefan O’Brien and also featured music from Deja Vu afterwards.
The contestants taking to the stage were Niamh, Ciaran, Kirsty, Liam, Katie, Uchie, Pauline, Joe, Dylan. Anna, Sinead and Rachel.
Doyle’s of Rathnew, Whistlers, The Woodpecker, Ta Se, Wicklow Golf Club, The Arches and The Brass Fox have all held their Singing Pub nights. It’s the turn of The Bridge Tavern tonight (Wednesday, July 31) followed by Fitzpatrick’s on Thursday, August 1.
Last year Wicklow Golf Club picked up the award for the best pub of the competition, while the best bar act went to Fitzpatrick’s.
The judges for this year’s competition are Kirsty McDougall and Georgia Snow. Kirsty won Best Female Singer at the 2012 Singing Pubs competition, while Georgia Snow runs a singing studio in Wicklow town.
