Moun­tain Res­cue cover pro­vided at two events

IT was a busy week­end for Wick­low’s moun­tain res­cue teams as they were de­ployed to cover the Bray Air Show and the Reek Sun­day Pil­grim­age held on Croagh Patrick.

Dublin and Wick­low Moun­tain Res­cue Team and Glen of Imaal Red Cross Moun­tain Res­cue Team were joined on Satur­day and Sun­day by An Garda Síochána, Order of Malta Am­bu­lance Corps, Irish Coast Guard, and Na­tional Am­bu­lance Ser­vice at the Bray Air Show.

The event was al­most without in­ci­dent and the teams only treated one pa­tient.

On the other side of the coun­try in County Mayo, the Reek Sun­day pil­grim­age took place on Croagh Patrick. Moun­tain res­cue per­son­nel from Wick­low worked along­side Calder Valley Search and Res­cue Team, Mayo Moun­tain Res­cue Team and all of the Moun­tain Res­cue Ire­land teams, Irish Cave Res­cue Or­gan­i­sa­tion, Po­lice Ser­vice of North­ern Ire­land, and Order of Malta Am­bu­lance Corps to pro­vide med­i­cal and res­cue cover for the event. The team treated a num­ber of pa­tients for mi­nor in­juries dur­ing their shift which lasted from 4 a.m. to 11 a.m.
