Bands sign up for lo­cal ben­e­fit

SEV­ERAL lo­cal bands will per­form at a ben­e­fit night for the Alzheimer So­ci­ety of Ire­land at the Ark­low Bay Ho­tel this Fri­day, Au­gust 10.

Grav­ity, Black Cherry and Those Lazy Ba­bies will all take to the stage from 8 p.m. to raise funds that will help to pro­vide for lo­cal ser­vices and sup­ports for peo­ple liv­ing with De­men­tia, their fam­i­lies and car­ers in County Wick­low in­clud­ing day cen­tres, so­cial clubs, sup­port groups and in­for­ma­tion events.

It will also be a fam­ily af­fair as three broth­ers from Ark­low per­form with their three bands. Shane Lawlor will play with Black Cherry, Dar­ren Lawlor with Those Lazy Ba­bies and Brian Lawlor as part of Grav­ity.

The Alzheimer So­ci­ety of Ire­land’s Wick­low Ser­vices thanked the bands for hosting the ben­e­fit night. Thanks were also ex­tended to all of the vol­un­teers who have given up their time to help to pre­pare for the event and for their on­go­ing sup­port.

Tick­ets cost €10 and dou­ble as a raf­fle ticket with great prizes up for grabs on the night.
