Hol­ly­wood Fair

The Hol­ly­wood Fair takes place this com­ing Satur­day and Sun­day, Au­gust 10, to Au­gust 11. A unique event at­tract­ing vis­i­tors from far and wide, and guar­an­teed to be an entertaini­ng week­end.

On Thursday night, Au­gust 9, there will be a set-danc­ing/céilí night in the GAA Club grounds. Ad­mis­sion of €10 in­cludes re­fresh­ments and a great nights’ en­ter­tain­ment is guar­an­teed.

On the Satur­day Bishop Ea­monn Walsh will con­cel­e­brate an old-style Latin Mass in St Kevin’s Church at 6 p.m. with lo­cal clergy.

Af­ter Mass, a slow-bi­cy­cle race is planned which is fol­lowed by a dra­matic re-en­act­ment in an ad­ja­cent field – the theme of this year’s re-en­act­ment is the Flood­ing of the Poulaphouc­a Lake in the early 1940s. Af­ter­wards there will be mu­sic on the stage in the vil­lage from 8.30 p.m.

A great days’ en­ter­tain­ment for all the fam­ily. Ad­mis­sion is €5, with chil­dren go­ing for free.
