New pop-up art exhibition
KATHRINA Shine’s new 20/20 Vision Exhibition will remain on show until August 22.
The exhibition is a mix of paintings, new ink works, limited edition Giclée prints, sculptures, art fashion and home decor and is located at 57 Main Street, Wicklow town.
Cllr Irene Winters, the Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council, officially opened the exhibition.
‘I have been receiving great feedback from people. They seem to be particularly enjoying the experience of colour.
‘I think some visitors to the gallery are enjoying a new understanding of abstract art. There is a purpose behind each exhibit and they all have a story behind them,’ said Kathrina.
Her paintings are already part of various private collections internationally and of the OPW’s National Collection.
This is also her first collection to be transformed into a clothing and home decor line, including everything from handbags and t-shirts to dresses.
‘It’s about everyone having access to art,’ explains Kathrina. ‘Everyday items like mugs and cushions can now become a piece of art.’
Kathrina is the daughter of Finbarr and Breeda Shine, who established Shine’s Pharmacy in 1962 having made Wicklow town their home.
The exhibition remains open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, including Saturdays and Sundays. Visit www.kathrinashine.ie to view Kathrina’s work.
