Ark­low Mu­nic­i­pal Dis­trict re­cently pre­sented cheques to a num­ber of festival committees to ac­knowl­edge their achieve­ments and con­tri­bu­tions to lo­cal com­mu­ni­ties within the dis­trict.

On be­half of the mem­bers of Ark­low Mu­nic­i­pal Dis­trict, the cathaoir­leach, Cllr Pat Fitzger­ald, pre­sented cheques to a to­tal of €5,000 to seven committees.

Cllr Fitzger­ald said: ‘We recog­nise and value the vol­un­tary con­tri­bu­tion made by lo­cal groups in their own com­mu­ni­ties and I wish to con­grat­u­late and thank them for their hard work and com­mit­ment.’

The festival committees which were pre­sented with cheques were Ark­low Tidy Towns, Ark­low Mu­sic Festival, Ark­low Hal­loween Festival, Ark­low RNLI, Inbhear Mór Per­for­mance En­sem­ble, Ark­low Christ­mas Festival Com­mit­tee and Light Up Avoca Vil­lage.

Mem­bers of Ark­low Mu­nic­i­pal Dis­trict with rep­re­sen­ta­tives of the seven festival committees who were pre­sented with cheques to help them con­tinue their work in lo­cal com­mu­ni­ties across the dis­trict.
