Ladies Foot­ball: Well done to our ladies team who edged out a vic­tory in a very close match away to a young and im­pres­sive Barn­dar­rig side on Tues­day night in Round 2 of the cham­pi­onship. Fi­nal score of 0-8 to 5-3.

It re­ally was an all-round team per­for­mance from Kil­bride but a spe­cial men­tion goes to the de­fen­sive work from Tara Roche, Ciara Roche, Claire Fran­cis, Kather­ine Ward, Chloe Free­hill, Ca­tri­ona Reneghan, Gearóidín Burke as well as Lau­ren McDon­ald in goals who pro­tected the net re­lent­lessly.

Our next and fi­nal group game is away to Bless­ing­ton; date and time TBC.

A busy week ahead for our teams in cham­pi­onship foot­ball, the Se­nior ladies play Bless­ing­ton away Wed­nes­day night the 14th.

The Ju­nior ‘B’ team played Rath­new in their first game in the cham­pi­onship. A close game - it was seven each at half time, Rath­new ran out win­ners 14-12.

Next up the Ju­nior ‘B’ team play AGB in round 2 on Thurs­day, Au­gust 15, in Pearse’s Park at 7.30pm

The Ju­nior ‘A’ team play Éire Óg Grey­stones in the cham­pi­onship in Round 3 in Aughrim on Fri­day 16th Au­gust at 7.25pm

The Se­nior men play St. Pats in round 4 in Aughrim on Sun­day, Au­gust 18, at 7.30pm.

The un­der-7 boys con­tinue train­ing on Thurs­day evening at 6.15pm. We have Go Games at home this Satur­day the 17th at 11.00am. We will meet at the pitch at 10.40am.

AGB’s Ju­nior Bs trav­elled to Dunlavin on Thurs­day evening to be­gin their cham­pi­onship cam­paign for 2019. A good match for the lads saw great skill and Foot­ball on dis­play from AGBs Ju­nior Bs and make their mark in the Ju­nior ‘B’ cham­pi­onship. Fi­nal score fin­ished in favour of Dunlavin, AGB 1-16 to DUNLAVIN 1-20. Hard luck, lads.

AGB’s Ju­nior ladies made their mark on the cham­pi­onship ta­ble on Satur­day evening in Balt­in­glass. An im­pres­sive first game for the ladies saw them fin­ish with an ex­cel­lent score of AGB 7-9 to Balt­in­glass 4-6.

Hard luck to our un­der-12 girls who trav­elled to Ash­ford on Tues­day evening, and fin­ished slightly be­hind Ash­ford in scores. An ex­cel­lent game of foot­ball was played both teams.

Huge well done to AGB’s un­der-12 Blue team who faced St Pat’s at home on Thurs­day evening in Pearse’s Park. A great game for the girls saw the fi­nal score fin­ish vic­to­ri­ous for AGB. Well done girls.

Best of luck to the Wicklow un­der-16s in the Gerry Reilly Shield fi­nal this week­end. They will take on Laois on Satur­day, Au­gust 17, check pa­per for time and venue.


The Ju­nior ‘A’ foot­ball team hav­ing al­ready ac­counted for Lacken-Kil­bride and Hol­ly­wood in the group stages of the cham­pi­onship will face what is ar­guably their tough­est chal­lenge of the sea­son so far when they travel to Balt­in­glass on Satur­day next, Au­gust 17, to take on cham­pi­onship favourites Val­ley­mount.

The man­age­ment team of John Smith, Noel Mur­phy, Pat Doyle, Fran­cis Simp­son and Donal Weafer will be hop­ing their charges can main­tain their im­pres­sive form of late and con­tinue their un­beaten run. Throw in is at 5pm and all sup­port would be ap­pre­ci­ated.

All con­nected with Shil­le­lagh/Cool­boy G.A.A. club would like to wish all our young ath­letes from the com­mu­nity and sur­round­ing ar­eas all the best when they travel to Lim­er­ick over the course of next week­end to com­pete in the Com­mu­nity Games na­tional fi­nals.

On this Fri­day, Au­gust 16, our un­der-12 foot­ball team travel to An­nacurra to take on the home side.

The next chap­ter in the pop­u­lar GoGames se­ries goes ahead on this Satur­day, Au­gust 17, in Cool­boy com­menc­ing at 11am. Carnew, Aughrim and An­nacurra along with our own boys/girls will par­tic­i­pate.
