Distinguished guests for travellers ‘House warming’
Two government ministers and to Dáil deputies are among a distinguished list of people invited to attend a ‘house-warming’ party in Newtownmountkennedy next week.
The venue is the new home of Mr and Mrs Billy Murphy, and the party is scheduled for Thursday night.
Mr and Mrs Murphy are a travelling family who are well known in the area and they wish to become part of the settled community. They are looking forward to welcoming their neighbours and members of the settled community into their new home. The big list of invited guests includes the Minister for Labour, Liam Kavanagh; the Minister for Education, Gemma Hussey; Deputies Godfrey Timmins and Paudge Brennan, Mr Kevin Ryan, Chairman of Wicklow County Council; Miss Nora Fitzpatrick, Chairperson of Wicklow Urban Council; Mr Seamus Hayes, County Manager; Garda Superintendent John Hanrahan, Bray; Garda Superintendent TJ Neagle, Wicklow, and many more.
During the party, the County Wicklow Committee for the Rights of Travellers will present a gift of fire irons made at St Kieran’s Training Centre for Travelling People in Bray.
