Great night’s music helps to fundraise for local services
A great crowd gathered for the benefit night in support the Alzheimer Society of Ireland at the Arklow Bay Hotel last Friday.
Local bands, Gravity, Black Cherry and Those Lazy Babies, took to the stage to wow the crowd. The music was a family affair as three brothers, Shane, Darren and Brian Lawlor, from Arklow performed with their individual bands. There was also a big raffle with prizes including a midweek getaway.
The night took place to raise funds to provide for local services and supports for people living with Dementia, their families and carers in County Wicklow.
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland’s Wicklow Services thanked the bands and volunteers who helped to arrange the night and everyone who attended for their generous support. Thanks were also extended to sponsors of the event including the Talbot Hotel, the Woodenbridge Hotel, Jones Oil in Arklow, The Broken Chair, Christy’s pub and Topline Bolands.
Supports offered by the charity in the garden county include day care services at Lily of the Valley, Rathdrum, Nolan House and St Claire’s Day Centre in Bray, home care supports, a social group and support groups for families and carers.
