Great night’s mu­sic helps to fundraise for lo­cal ser­vices

A great crowd gathered for the ben­e­fit night in sup­port the Alzheimer So­ci­ety of Ire­land at the Ark­low Bay Ho­tel last Fri­day.

Lo­cal bands, Grav­ity, Black Cherry and Those Lazy Ba­bies, took to the stage to wow the crowd. The mu­sic was a fam­ily af­fair as three broth­ers, Shane, Dar­ren and Brian Lawlor, from Ark­low per­formed with their in­di­vid­ual bands. There was also a big raf­fle with prizes in­clud­ing a mid­week get­away.

The night took place to raise funds to pro­vide for lo­cal ser­vices and sup­ports for peo­ple liv­ing with Dementia, their fam­i­lies and car­ers in County Wicklow.

The Alzheimer So­ci­ety of Ire­land’s Wicklow Ser­vices thanked the bands and vol­un­teers who helped to ar­range the night and ev­ery­one who at­tended for their gen­er­ous sup­port. Thanks were also ex­tended to spon­sors of the event in­clud­ing the Tal­bot Ho­tel, the Wood­en­bridge Ho­tel, Jones Oil in Ark­low, The Bro­ken Chair, Christy’s pub and To­pline Bolands.

Sup­ports of­fered by the char­ity in the gar­den county in­clude day care ser­vices at Lily of the Val­ley, Rath­drum, Nolan House and St Claire’s Day Cen­tre in Bray, home care sup­ports, a so­cial group and sup­port groups for fam­i­lies and car­ers.
