Wellness event to be held in Arklow
A new wellness festival will kick off in Arklow next Sunday.
Release Wellness is a community-based event which will feature local fitness and wellness coaches in a showcase of what’s on offer in Arklow. There will be 18 short demonstrations on the day and participants are being actively encouraged to come along and take part. Demonstrations will include yoga, Brazilian jiu jitsu, trampoline fitness, boot camp and other wellness activities.
Speaking to the Wicklow People, organiser Aisling Nolan said, ‘the demos are 15 to 20 minutes long and the hope is that people will join in. There will also be stalls set up where people can speak with the fitness instructors and learn more.’
The showcase will take place on a grass area near the Duck Pond close to the skate park and running track from 12 noon until 5 p.m. It’s a family friendly event and attendees are encouraged to bring a yoga mat, water, sun cream, small towel and gym wear.
Aisling, who recently started to teach Pound in Arklow, explained that the idea for the festival came from seeing people’s reaction during the fitness class.
‘I thought it would be amazing for people to come together and see what is in Arklow,’ Aisling added. She also thanked everyone who had helped with the preparations for the festival including her famiily, Cllr Peir Leonard, Andrew O’Harte, Blueprint Arklow, Supervalu, Coral Leisure Centre, the Arklow Bay Hotel and volunteers for their support.
