Walker injures leg after fall
WICKLOW’S Mountain Rescue teams were involved in a joint callout after a walker sustained a lower leg injury after a fall.
The alarm was raised on Wednesday, August 7.
The Dublin and Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team and the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team were both tasked at 2.29 p.m. by the National Ambulance Service (NAS) to assist the walker on the Spinc in Glendalough.
Mountain rescue personnel assessed and treated the walkers injury before evacuation by Irish Coast Guard Rescue 116.
The operation was stood down just after 4 p.m.. It was the 65th callout of the year for both teams.
On Tuesday, August 13, a walker who became ill on Bray Head had to be airlifted to hospital by Air Corps 112 after the alarm was raised at 11.40 a.m.
