Walker injures leg af­ter fall

WICK­LOW’S Moun­tain Res­cue teams were in­volved in a joint call­out af­ter a walker sus­tained a lower leg in­jury af­ter a fall.

The alarm was raised on Wed­nes­day, August 7.

The Dublin and Wick­low Moun­tain Res­cue Team and the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Moun­tain Res­cue Team were both tasked at 2.29 p.m. by the Na­tional Am­bu­lance Ser­vice (NAS) to as­sist the walker on the Spinc in Glen­dalough.

Moun­tain res­cue per­son­nel as­sessed and treated the walk­ers in­jury be­fore evac­u­a­tion by Ir­ish Coast Guard Res­cue 116.

The op­er­a­tion was stood down just af­ter 4 p.m.. It was the 65th call­out of the year for both teams.

On Tues­day, August 13, a walker who be­came ill on Bray Head had to be air­lifted to hos­pi­tal by Air Corps 112 af­ter the alarm was raised at 11.40 a.m.
