Preparations are progressing nicely for our second vintage day which will be held on Sunday, September 8, in Coolgreany. It was decided at a recent meeting that the club would support St Aidan’s Day Care Centre Gorey, and some of our local community groups.
An extra number of new events will be included this year, including basket making exhibition, also butter making. The vintage area will include steam engines, vintage tractors and cars, classical cars, threshing, pet farm, dog show, bouncy castle, among a number of other events. A great family day is promised, with music by Stacey Breen and also Hardy Bucks through the afternoon.
Also included is a monster raffle with some very valuable prizes available, with tickets on sale at present. Come along for a great day of entertainment guaranteed.
LEAVING CERT EXAMS

GALA ENTERTAINMENT NIGHT
A Gala Night with the Stars in aid of St Aidan’s Day Centre takes place in Gorey Little Theatre on Friday, August 30, at 8 p.m. The night will showcase many local artists performing classical and trad pieces, Comedy Sketch, Irish and modern dances, ceili, Recitations, songs and something for everyone. Deepest sympathy of all our local community is extended to Bid Murphy, Croghan View on the recent death of her brother Patsy Byrne, Camolin, whose burial took place in the local cemetery after Mass in Camolin Church on Friday, August 16. RIP.

COOLGREANY TIDY TOWNS
The Keep Wexford Beautiful Competition is on at present and also the Housing Estates Competition, our committee are looking for all the help they can get together, and if any residents have a bit of spare time, as our Chief Gardiner is out sick at present and she is sorely missed.
It is that time of year again when adjudication of the Tidy Towns Competition is taking place and the local committee are appealing for the support of as many as possible to help with the cleaning up of all the roads around the village and in the village itself to help improve the area. Don’t forget this is Tidy Towns Month, and any support would be appreciated by the committee.
ARKLOW GOLDEN CIRCLE
At the request of some members of the group a trip to the National Ploughing Championship has been arranged for Wednesday, September 18, at a cost of €20 Bus only, admission for the event payable on the gate on the day.
A beginners art class has been arranged, commencing on Wednesday, September 25, at 10.30 a.m. in the Presbyterian church hall on the Dublin road, the course will run for eight weeks, with a break over Halloween, cost €60 which includes all materials is now fully booked.
Our holiday to Sligo from October 6 to October 10, still has a few places remaining. Deposit of €20 on booking and full payment before end of August,
