Knock­ananna play the fi­nal of Wick­low se­nior camo­gie cham­pi­onship on Satur­day next, Septem­ber 15, at 4 p.m. at St Pa­trick’s GAA pitch, Wick­low Town. The op­po­si­tion is Donard and as al­ways this will be a tight bat­tle be­tween these two teams. The girls are bid­ding for their fourth Wick­low se­nior cham­pi­onship ti­tle in a row this year so your sup­port would be very much ap­pre­ci­ated to help get them over the line.


The lads play their quar­ter fi­nal match in the Ju­nior B cham­pi­onship against Rath­new in Avon­dale on Thurs­day evening at 7.45 p.m. Please get along to sup­port the team as they bid to make it to the semi-fi­nal stages of the cham­pi­onship.


Thank you to all the scare­crow mak­ers you are keep­ing us all en­ter­tained with your cre­ations dot­ted around our vil­lage. Please make sure to drop your en­try forms into Byrne’s shop or O’Ke­effe’s pub for judg­ing. For all of you who have not made your scare­crows yet there is still time as en­tries will be taken up to Septem­ber 20 so get crack­ing as you are miss­ing out on all the fun. As soon as your en­try is re­ceived we will post pic­tures on Face­book.

Win­ners will be an­nounced at our ta­ble quiz in O’Ke­effe’s pub on Satur­day, Septem­ber 28. Get your teams ready. All pro­ceeds of scare­crow com­pe­ti­tion and ta­ble quiz go to­wards Knock­ananna Care of the Aged Christ­mas din­ner. Your sup­port is much ap­pre­ci­ated.


Knock­ananna Tidy towns will re­sume their monthly car boot sale in the hall on Satur­day, Septem­ber 28. If you have items to do­nate please con­tact any of the tidy town com­mit­tee. The hall will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Septem­ber 28. Tea avail­able all morn­ing so even if you are not in­ter­ested in buy or sell­ing please come along for a cuppa and a chat.
