End of the road for Pow­er­scourt Arms

THE POW­ER­SCOURT Arms Ho­tel in En­niskerry has ceased trad­ing. Hav­ing closed its doors for the last time re­cently, a cred­i­tors meet­ing is to take place to­day (Wed­nes­day) in Dublin.

Records from last Fe­bru­ary show debts of al­most €70,000 and as­sets of not even €20,000.

Around 12 peo­ple are now out of work af­ter the ho­tel started get­ting in to trou­ble as a re­sult of a de­crease in busi­ness. To­day’s meet­ing will take place in the Stil­lor­gan Park Ho­tel and is ex­pected to in­clude the ap­point­ment of a liq­uida­tor to wind up the com­pany.

Ac­cord­ing to doc­u­ments filed at the Com­pa­nies Of­fice, the di­rec­tors of the Pow­er­scourt Arms Ho­tel (En­niskerry) are Pádraig Blighe and Michael Doyle.

Mr Blighe and Mr Doyle have also been di­rec­tors of the Dol­men Ho­tel Group Limited, which has op­er­ated the Dol­men Ho­tel in Car­low, since 2000.

The Pow­er­scourt Arms Ho­tel (En­niskerry) was in­cor­po­rated in Fe­bru­ary 2007. The site was bought by prop­erty de­vel­oper Michael Mur­phy in De­cem­ber 2005 for €8 mil­lion.
