Sympathy is extended to the family of Con O’Connor, who died last week. Con (Formerly Navan road, D7) is mourned by his wife Diana, his children, Cicci (Ruth) Carlo, Paloma, Chloe, Paddy, Ben and Rosie and their partners, his brother John and sister Brigid, grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
Con’s funeral took place in Dunlavin on Monday, September 16. May he rest in peace.
HOSPICE COFFEE MORNING
A coffee morning will be held in the Dunlavin Parish Centre this Thursday, September 19, from 10 a.m. to midday. All proceeds will go to St Brigid’s Hospice, the Curragh. Please support this worthy cause by dropping in for a cuppa and a chat. There will also be a raffle on the day, prizes would be welcomed and can be dropped into the centre prior to the event. Crosscare’s annual collection for the community, Homeless and Youth Services replaced the usual Share collection at all Masses last weekend. A total of €1,200 was collected and your support was gratefully appreciated.
The Folk Group is starting back after the summer and looking for new members. They sing at midday Mass on the second Sunday and 10 a.m. Mass on the fourth Sunday of the month. A Book Club is starting in Kilcullen Parish Centre on September 20, running every third Friday of the month. The evening book club will be held at 7.30 p.m. for ages 20-39 and the morning book club will be held at 11 a.m. for an open age group. The aim of both is to explore the inner life through books. Creative drama encourages children to be and express themselves; develop their confidence; use their imagination; learn how to collaborate and create with others; make friends and have lots of fun.
Activities include: Fun drama games and exercises; Improvisation and storytelling; Creating characters; Movement; Prop and puppet making; Drawing, Painting and other making activities.
