Sym­pa­thy is ex­tended to the fam­ily of Con O’Con­nor, who died last week. Con (Formerly Na­van road, D7) is mourned by his wife Diana, his chil­dren, Cicci (Ruth) Carlo, Paloma, Chloe, Paddy, Ben and Rosie and their part­ners, his brother John and sis­ter Brigid, grand­chil­dren and many rel­a­tives and friends.

Con’s fu­neral took place in Dunlavin on Mon­day, Septem­ber 16. May he rest in peace.

HOS­PICE COF­FEE MORN­ING

A cof­fee morn­ing will be held in the Dunlavin Parish Cen­tre this Thurs­day, Septem­ber 19, from 10 a.m. to mid­day. All pro­ceeds will go to St Brigid’s Hos­pice, the Cur­ragh. Please sup­port this wor­thy cause by drop­ping in for a cuppa and a chat. There will also be a raf­fle on the day, prizes would be wel­comed and can be dropped into the cen­tre prior to the event. Thank you.

CUL­TURE BUS

The Cul­ture Bus will leave Dunlavin at 11 a.m. on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 12, to travel to Glas­nevin ceme­tery for a guided tour at 2 p.m. Re­turn to Dunlavin is at 6.30 p.m. Please let Mar­garet know at 087 9693960 asap if you wish to travel as she needs to know the num­bers. Thank you.

Dunlavin Friend­ship Club will re­turn to the Dunlavin Parish Cen­tre from this Fri­day, Septem­ber 20, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. New mem­bers are most wel­come.

PARISH NOTES

Cross­care’s an­nual col­lec­tion for the com­mu­nity, Home­less and Youth Ser­vices re­placed the usual Share col­lec­tion at all Masses last week­end. A to­tal of €1,200 was col­lected and your sup­port was grate­fully ap­pre­ci­ated.

The Folk Group is start­ing back af­ter the sum­mer and look­ing for new mem­bers. They sing at mid­day Mass on the sec­ond Sun­day and 10 a.m. Mass on the fourth Sun­day of the month. There will be a singing work­shop on Satur­day, Septem­ber 14, to start the new term. Con­tact Suzanne at 087 2977794 for more in­for­ma­tion.

You­cat and Cat­e­chism Cour­ses – Want to ex­plore the Catholic faith with oth­ers? An in­for­ma­tion evening will be held with tea and cof­fee on Mon­day, Septem­ber 16, at 7.30 p.m. in the Dunlavin Parish Cen­tre to ex­plain two cour­ses be­ing run in Dunlavin and Kil­cullen weekly on Mon­day evenings. Ger, who was a son of the late Kevin is mourned by his mother Tina, sis­ters Yvonne and Hi­lary, brothers Joe and James, many rel­a­tives and friends. Ger’s fu­neral took place in Dunlavin on Fri­day, Septem­ber 13. May Ger rest in peace.

BOOK CLUB

A Book Club is start­ing in Kil­cullen Parish Cen­tre on Septem­ber 20, run­ning ev­ery third Fri­day of the month. The evening book club will be held at 7.30 p.m. for ages 20-39 and the morn­ing book club will be held at 11 a.m. for an open age group. The aim of both is to ex­plore the in­ner life through books. SPON­SORED CLIMB UP LUG­NAQUILLA

A spon­sored walk in aid of Down Syn­drome Ire­land will take place on Sun­day, Septem­ber 22. It is the ninth year of the walk and hope­fully peo­ple will sup­port it again this year. For more in­for­ma­tion con­tact Liz Gib­bons at 087 9670240.

Cre­ative drama en­cour­ages chil­dren to be and ex­press them­selves; de­velop their con­fi­dence; use their imag­i­na­tion; learn how to col­lab­o­rate and cre­ate with oth­ers; make friends and have lots of fun.

Ac­tiv­i­ties in­clude: Fun drama games and ex­er­cises; Im­pro­vi­sa­tion and sto­ry­telling; Cre­at­ing char­ac­ters; Move­ment; Prop and pup­pet mak­ing; Draw­ing, Paint­ing and other mak­ing ac­tiv­i­ties.

There will be a fun free taster ses­sion on Thurs­day, Septem­ber 19, from 4.30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Imaal Hall. To regis­ter text/call Carol at 086 3553026 with your child’s name and age.
