‘TEN FOR KEN’ 5K CHARITY WALK
A SPONSORED 5k walk for Parkinsons will take place in Arklow on Saturday, October 5 at 11 a.m.
On the tenth anniversary of his diagnosis with Parkinson’s disease, long-time Arklow resident and former business teacher in St Mary’s College Ken Moroney is inviting anybody interested to take part in a sponsored walk. All of funds raised will go to the Parkinsons Association of Ireland.
Since his diagnosis, Ken has made an enormous effort to keep active because exercise forms an integral part of treatment for Parkinson’s. He has completed three Camino walks in the last ten years but now finds it more difficult to walk and is aided by a walker.
The walk is roughly 5K, starting at Ardglen, Vale Road along a route down the riverbank finishing at the Duck pond around 12.30 p.m.
