A wonderful event
Clan na Gael celebrate their super season in style
CLAN NA GAEL LGFA held their annual awards last Friday in Kilmacanogue GAA Club. Clan na Gael, an amalgamation of Kilmac and Enniskerry GAA, is now in their third year of providing football for ladies across all age groups starting at under-12s right up to the senior team.
There was a great turnout on the night, a number of awards were given out including Wexford Hurling captain Matthew O’Hanlon accompanied by Wicklow and Clan na Gael player, Tara Costello, presenting the under-12 team with their medals after winning the Division 3 league.
During the 2019 season, the ladies team received the sad news of the tragic passing of their former teammate Priscilla Foley.
Teammate and friend Naomi Kiernan spoke of Priscilla on the night, before Shauna Kearns was presented with the Priscilla Foley Senior Player of the Year shield for 2019.
It was a double win for the Carr twins who were named as U23 Player of the Year jointly.
The Player’s Player of the Year was a tight contest with Shauna Kearns coming out on top again taking home both much deserved awards after a great season. The girls would also like to thank Josie Kirwan, Priscilla’s mother for attending on the night on what the club hope to now become a long running annual awards ceremony.
