CIARAN JONES GOLF PRIZE-GIVING
THE Avon was the venue for the presentation of prizes for the annual Ciarán Jones Memorial Golf Classic.
The classic took place in Tulfarris back in August and was won by the team consisting of David Carty, Tom Davis, Kevin Cunningham and Maurice Keogh.
The Jones Family and the organising committee would like to express their sincere appreciation to all who supported this year’s event. This year’s deserving beneficiaries were Acquired Brain Injury Ireland and Blessington and District Senior Citizens Care Association.
Thanks to the tremendous support received, a total of €20,600 was raised this year which was divided equally and presented to both charities at the social and presentation night. A great night was had by all and The Ciarán Jones Person of The Year award was also presented at the Avon, this year going to Garda Michael O’Rourke, a very worthy recipient who has provided tremendous support and is always on hand to help out in the local communities.
The Jones family said: ‘Once again, we thank the people of the local communities for their continued generosity and support and for turning up on the day in large numbers. This event has gone from strength to strength each year and does so because the people of Kilbride, Blessington and surrounding areas have been behind us all the way and shown such support over the years.’
