Wicklow hotelier attends major English golf event
TULFARRIS Hotel and Golf Resort was one of the three tourist companies to join Tourism Ireland at a promotion drive at the BMW PGA Championship held at Wentworth, in south-east England
One of the European Tour’s biggest golf competitions, the BMW PGA Championship attracts top players, thousands of spectators and international journalists each year – providing a fantastic platform to showcase our world-class golf. Golf holidays in Ireland continue to be a major focus for Tourism Ireland in Britain, and in other key markets around the world, and the organisation is rolling out an extensive programme of promotions to grow the number of golf tourists in 2019 and beyond.
‘Our presence at this year’s BMW PGA Championship provided us with another excellent opportunity to highlight our world-class golf in Wicklow and elsewhere around Ireland,’ said Julie Wakley, ‘Tourism Ireland’s Head of Great Britain. ‘This is just one element of Tourism Ireland’s busy promotional programme to encourage more golfers in Britain to consider a holiday in Ireland this year.
‘Our promotions are reminding golfers about the fantastic courses where our champions honed and perfected their skills. We’re also taking every opportunity to highlight the fact that the Ryder Cup will take place in Ireland at Adare Manor in 2026.’
